We use Resend for transactional email on our own tools and client custom software, and to send our own newsletter. Mailchimp remains what we recommend for client email marketing.
Why we use Resend
Resend covers two different jobs for us. Transactional email, the account and notification messages an application sends on its own, needs deliverability, authentication records, and monitoring for failed sends in a way that a general marketing tool is not built around. We also use it to send our own newsletter, so on our end it is not a transactional-only tool.
For client work, our default for full campaigns and marketing automation stays Mailchimp, since that scale of email marketing benefits from a dedicated marketing platform. Resend is what we reach for when a project, ours or a client’s custom software, needs to send mail on its own rather than run a marketing campaign.
Where it already runs
Our own contact and project forms are delivered through Resend, described plainly in our privacy policy along with the other services the site actually uses. We also use it to send our own newsletter. On client work, when custom software or another internal application needs to send a password reset, a notification, or a receipt, that mail goes through Resend too.
What to know
Resend still depends on the sending domain being properly authenticated and verified. That setup happens once per project, before launch, not after the first email fails to arrive.
