Add On IDX

Add On IDX is our own MLS integration platform, built for designers creating real estate websites. It adds property search, featured listings, listing pages, maps, saved searches, lead capture, and other IDX tools to a site without dictating how the rest of that site must be built.

From RealtyEngine to a more flexible product

Add On IDX succeeded RealtyEngine, an earlier all-in-one system we built on Adobe Business Catalyst for real estate professionals. RealtyEngine combined the website and MLS tools in one product. That approach worked, but it also reflected the common assumption that IDX and the website had to come from the same vendor.

By 2021, designers were building stronger real estate sites on a much wider range of platforms. The missing piece was an IDX product that could join the site they had already designed instead of requiring them to replace it.

We built Add On IDX around that separation. The designer keeps control of the brand, layout, content, hosting, and platform. Add On IDX supplies the MLS functionality through widgets that can be placed where the design needs them.

One system across many platforms

Add On IDX is used on sites built with WordPress, Weebly, Weebly Cloud, Webflow, Framer, Squarespace, and other platforms. Listing data refreshes twice daily, while designers control how search and property information fit into the surrounding experience.

Because we built and maintain the product ourselves, a new requirement reaches the people responsible for the software instead of disappearing into a vendor support queue. That direct relationship is as important to the product as its technical flexibility.
